Ellis Paul

It’s always a treat when Ellis Paul graces the stage at Concerts at the Crossing. In case you haven’t had the good fortune to attend an Ellis Paul performance, he’s a critically-acclaimed singer, songwriter, poet, and troubadour originally hailing from a potato farming family in northern Maine. An engaging performer and raconteur, he is the recipient of 13 Boston Music Awards, second only to multi-platinum act, Aerosmith. Over the course of sixteen years, Ellis Paul has built a vast catalog of music which weds striking poetic imagery and philosophical introspection with hook-laden melodies. It’s a pleasure to have him back with us this season. www.ellispaul.com

Caitlin Canty

Caitlin Canty is a Vermont bred, NYC-based singer-songwriter. She performs regularly solo and with her trio, as well as backed by the string-rock band Darlingside. Prior to her latest album, Neon Streets (2010), Caitlin independently produced several EPs and one full-length album, Green (2007), which she recorded and mixed herself. Caitlin is currently at work on a new album slated for early 2012 release.

“…masterful beyond-her-years songwriting and vulnerably pure voice.”-David Coffey, Daily Collegian

“The first thing that strikes the listener about Caitlin Canty is her voice. It’s not just her pure tone and precise control, but the poetic nuance with which she injects every fraction of a syllable with meaning and feeling. Her stage presence is delightful and her songwriting is well-crafted, insightful, creative and entertaining.” – Mark Schaffer, The Folk Project
